Wash day Saturday and er….Sunday

Hair Care Method: The Wash & Slow

Time Frame:  Part-time Saturday to Part-time Sunday

Natural Hair Care Products Used (Wash Day Parade) : Soultannicals Knot Sauce conditioner, unrefined Argan oil, Jane Carter Incredible Curls, Shea Nut Oil, Kinky Curly Curling Custard

Hair Drying Method: 90% air dry outer layers, diffuse roots only

The Prep: Saturday

♣ I clarified my hair with Kinky Curly Come Clean shampoo (a gentle cleanser)

♣ I let dry completely (no products applied to hair at this point)

♣ On clean dry hair, I applied layers to condition as follows: Argan Oil, followed by Soultannicals Leave-in conditioner

♣ On my head, I used 2 plastic steam caps to cover my hair and wrapped a long knee-high sock around my hairline to secure the plastic caps and prevent leaks overnight.

♣ Bake overnight on low body heat for 7- 8 hours of sleep time

The follow-through: Sunday

♣ Begin next day with adding cool water to strands via the shower

♣ I applied Jane Carter’s Incredible Curls, a creamy styler on very wet hair (as per label’s instructions)

♣ Post shower, I allowed my hair to ‘settle’ for 10 mins

♣ Shea Nut Oil is applied to the outermost layers (to seal in all the    yummy moisturising ingredients previously added to my hair)

♣ Final step: Add a sliver of Kinky Curly Curling Custard to hair canopy (frizz buster)

*For low-porosity curlies like myself, take care to apply thin layers of products to your hair. Otherwise, there’s a danger of getting product build-up on the strands which will result in dull-looking hair.
